The periodic table, made something you can explore, understand, build with — and actually learn.

The job it does

A printed table can only tell you so much

A wall chart gives you a symbol, a number and a mass. It cannot tell you what an element is like, what it gets used for, why it sits where it does — or whether you would still recognise it next week. Elemora starts from the same grid and keeps going.

It is built for people who are learning: students working through a chemistry course, teachers looking for something to point at, and anyone who has decided the table is worth knowing properly. It is a study aid, not a laboratory reference.

The element view

Enough about an element to actually hold on to it

Tapping a cell opens the whole element, not a tooltip. Quick Facts carry the category, the state at 25 °C, the group and the period, with the rest of the properties a tap away. Below that there is a written description of what the element is like and why it behaves that way, and a row of the things it is genuinely used for — carbon’s reads Steelmaking and Diamonds.

The Atomic Structure card draws the electron shells with the atomic number, atomic mass and electron configuration beside them, and then says in plain words that it is a simplified shell model and that electrons do not travel on fixed circular paths. An app for learners that quietly taught the wrong thing would not be worth having.

What the app does

  • All 118 elements

    Hydrogen through oganesson, with the lanthanides and actinides laid out beneath the main block. Pinch to zoom the table and drag to look around it.

  • Search takes what you have

    An element name, a symbol, or an atomic number — whichever one you happen to know.

  • Families you can combine

    Metals, nonmetals and metalloids across the top; alkali, alkaline earth, transition, post-transition, halogen and noble gas below. Tap more than one to combine them.

  • An element card, not a cell

    Atomic number, symbol, name and mass, the family it belongs to, and one plain line saying why it matters. Oxygen’s is “the element that makes fire and breathing possible”.

  • Atomic structure, drawn honestly

    Electron shells, atomic number, atomic mass and electron configuration — labelled as the simplified model it is, rather than passed off as the real thing.

  • Properties and common uses

    Category, state at 25 °C, group and period up front, the rest behind More properties, then a written description and what the element is actually used for.

  • Favourites

    Keep the elements you are working on where you can get back to them.

  • Flashcards and practice modes

    Memorise, quiz and reinforce. Tap a card to flip it, swipe through the set, and mark each one I knew this or Review again. A daily challenge sets a new group each day.

  • Identify the element

    Ten questions at a time, given an atomic number, a symbol or a name, with the run’s progress shown as you go.

  • Build a compound

    Add elements and Elemora works out the Hill formula, the molar mass and the atom count, then matches what you have made against its own catalogue and names it.

  • Structure, drawn — and in 3D

    A skeletal formula for the compound, how it bonds, and a 3D view to turn it around. Compounds can be saved and favourited.

  • Mastery you can see

    How many of the 118 you have mastered, a rank that moves as you go, recent accuracy, and counts for streak, cards answered, elements started and favourites saved.
