CoreCredit

Know exactly how much core-credit money is still at risk — and prove it when a vendor credit comes back short.

The CoreCredit dashboard: money at risk of $1,048.25 across 9 open cores, $500.00 overdue, and a needs-attention list.

The job it does

A core charge is a loan you made to your supplier

When a shop buys a replacement part, the supplier adds a refundable core charge for the old one. That money comes back only if the old part goes to the right vendor before the deadline, and only if the vendor actually issues the credit. In between, it is the shop’s money sitting on someone else’s shelf.

CoreCredit is the ledger for that money. It is not a repair-order system, an accounting product, an inventory manager, or a vendor marketplace — it does one narrow financial job from end to end.

  1. A core charge lands on an invoice. Log the part, the number, the vendor, and the expected credit.
  2. The old part is set aside and identified. Record the storage bin, add photos, keep the invoice and repair-order references with it.
  3. It goes back before the deadline. Each vendor’s own return window drives the due date.
  4. The return reference is kept. Batch the ready cores by vendor and record how they went back.
  5. The item stays open until the credit arrives. Returning a core does not clear it. Only a recorded credit does.
  6. Short, missing, and overdue credits are provable. The shortfall is calculated for you, and a dispute packet exports as a PDF.

Features

What is in version 1

  • Money at risk

The sum of what is still owed to you across every unresolved core. Sending a part back does not reduce it — only a credit you have actually recorded does.

  • Per-vendor return windows

Each vendor carries its own deadline, so a due date means that vendor’s due date and “overdue” means overdue for real.

  • Return batches

Group the cores that are ready for one vendor, record the return reference and whether it went by driver pickup, counter drop-off, or another route.

  • Dispute packets

Record the credit that arrived. If it is short, CoreCredit works out the difference, moves the item to Disputed, and exports a PDF packet through the standard share sheet.

  • Scanning that never guesses

Scan a barcode live, or capture a whole invoice with the document scanner. Both run on device, and everything read arrives as an editable suggestion you tick — nothing is saved until you press Save.

  • Quick Scan, one tap away

A Home Screen widget, an App Shortcut, and the Action Button all open the same Scan core screen.

  • Evidence kept with the record

Photos, storage bin, invoice and repair-order numbers, and notes live on the core itself, so the proof is where you look for it.

  • Search and filters

Find a core by part, part number, invoice, repair order, vendor, or bin.

  • Deadline reminders

Optional notifications before a return window closes. They are off until you turn them on, and nothing else depends on them.

  • Export and backup

CSV and JSON exports, plus a JSON backup you can restore. Restoring replaces what is on the device, and says so plainly before it runs.

  • Works with no signal

No account, no sign-in, no server. Every feature except purchasing works in Airplane Mode.

  • Light and Dark

Both appearances, and every status is carried by an icon and a word as well as a colour.

Privacy

Your records stay on your device

CoreCredit has no account system and no developer-operated server, so there is nowhere for your shop’s records to go. They are stored locally by the app, and they leave the device only when you export or share them yourself.

There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party SDK of any kind. The only network traffic is Apple’s own StoreKit, for the subscription. The app’s privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data types, and the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are readable inside the app with no connection at all.

The published Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are generated from the same text the app shows on device, so the two cannot drift apart.
